Our Foundation

Founded by Managing Director J.N. Patel in the early 1990s

Shayona Cement was born from a vision to address Malawi's cement shortage and reduce dependence on imports. What started as an ambitious idea became reality in 1997 when we launched our first cement brands, AKSHAR and BUILDPLAST, from our manufacturing plant in Kasungu District.
